Origin Story
Meet Coach B, owner of The LAB. Coach B (Letitia B) along with her two daughters launched the LAB Virtual platform shortly after miraculously surviving a motor vehicle crash roll-over accident on December 15, 2022. The EMT’s that arrived to the scene were amazed there were no casualties. BUT GOD. December 31, 2022, the team of three launched The LAB with $1 Zoom workout sessions. Sept. 2023, they progress to launch their very first fitness program: THE LAB. Since then, Coach B has worked with hundreds of clients to help guide them on their fitness journey.
Coach B’s History
I was diagnosed with several autoimmune disorders in 2012: lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, anxiety, high blood pressure, and IBS. This was my life, I thought. I became ill in September 2010, unsure of what I was dealing with for 2 years. I lost a lot of weight and became very confused and frustrated, going from one ambulance ride to another, in and out of hospitals, from one doctor’s appointment to the next. They poked and prodded, running test after test to find the prognosis. I was in and out of the cardiologist, rheumatologist, and psychiatrist offices. I thought at one point: Am I ever going to find out what I have going on? Finally, at the end of 2012, I was diagnosed with several autoimmune disorders. I was placed on plaquenil, methotrexate, and a slew of other medications. I was taking 21 pills a day just to feel normal…really, what I had made my new normal. I relocated to Georgia in December 2014, found new physicians, and remained under physicianal care until July 2016. In July 2016, after frequent visits to my rheumatologist and primary care physicians’ offices every 3 months, I was informed that I no longer had any signs of Lupus and RA. I was advised to stay on BP medication and check back within 6 months. I was completely taken off of all pharmacological medications. I was completely healed.
My oldest daughter had my first grandchild in August of 2017. During her entire pregnancy, she would say “mom I want” and I would say, “yes, that sounds really good!” I was eating as if I was expecting. I would agree with her, and from that moment on, I found myself eating various foods and gaining weight rapidly. I began to eat everything that was not tied down. I gained over 70 pounds in less than 2 years. People called it happy weight…I was not convinced. I was not okay with this weight gain. Since college, I had taken an interest in fitness. I fell in love with the gym and learning the anatomy and physiology of the body and how our bodies function. After getting sick, I had put my training to rest.
My healing and massive weight gain brought me back to fitness. I began training in June 2019. I was not quite sure how I was going to achieve my ideal goal weight, so I put myself through trial periods of many failed attempts. I wanted to be a witness to those who found themselves struggling through many obstacles to become fit. I was eager to try new things and discover how my body responded. Being ill for over 6 years, I knew one thing I had to do. That is, I had to listen to my body. My body was speaking loudly and clearly to me. Listening to your body is a must.
After going through the trial and error phase. I was on my way to results. I lost my first 40 pounds in less than 7 months. I look back now and realize the purpose of my pain. If you are willing to endure it, your pain has purpose. I am a living testimony that you can be unhealthy. Doctors can instruct their nurses to give you the call and tell you that you have an incurable disease. You can, at that moment, watch your life deteriorate right before you. OR you can take that information and fight to overcome. I am resilient. I will not accept “no” for an answer. You cannot tell me that I have something harmful to my life and I do nothing about it. I lost weight and trained myself with the very tools that I have placed for you to use in THE LAB. You must have grit, patience, and determination to face the adversity. I am Coach B and I approve this message.
